Dear Parent or Guardian -
We will be offering a program called UpRISE at SOCO Clubhouse on the following schedule:
UpRISE is Colorado’s youth tobacco control movement. UpRISE exists to support young people to learn about the tobacco/vape industry and the root causes of tobacco/nicotine use. We know that youth tobacco/nicotine use is often a symptom of a larger problem impacting young people and their communities, also known as a root cause. Youth participating in UpRISE investigate the root causes of local youth tobacco/nicotine use, then collaborate with other youth and adult facilitators to prevent tobacco/nicotine use and build a healthy community.
UpRISE is a program of the Center for Public Health Practice at the Colorado School of Public Health, CU Anschutz. It is funded by the Colorado Department of Law-Attorney General’s Office and the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
Your youth has been invited to participate in UpRISE. Participation is completely voluntary and all perspectives on the topics are welcomed. We encourage you to discuss what your youth is learning in UpRISE at home. If you have questions or would like to view the UpRISE materials, please contact:
